The St James Park Bake Off

We’re very excited to be hosting the first St James Park Bake Off as part of the Big Lunch on the 1st of June.

There are some lovely prizes on offer during the day – thanks to Eibe and our other sponsors – and we’re delighted that Edd Kimber, winner of the Great British Bake Off, and Clare Coghill, our local councillor who’s supported our Big Lunch all along, have agreed to be judges on the day.

Classic Cupcakes – 6 cupcakes made to the same recipe, all decorated the same

Beautiful Biscuits – 6 identical biscuits, made to the same recipe, all decorated the same

Favourite Family Cake – the choice of flavour and decoration is up to you, but it must be presented on a plate/board that’s a maximum of 30cm in diameter

Best Kids’ Cupcakes – Under 16s only, 6 cupcakes made to the same recipe, all decorated the same

On the Day:

Entries must be presented for judging, with a completed entry form, between 11:00am and 11:30 am to the judging tent at St James Park.

Judging will start at 12:00 noon, with the prize-winners announced at 1:00pm.

There is no charge for entry.

The Friends of St James Park invite you to donate your entries to our cake stall which is fundraising for future events in the park.  Donated cakes will be available to buy on our cake stall after the winners have been announced.

If you have any questions, just ask! You can email us on or tweet us at  @fosjpE17

Yes you can enter more than once (either a number of times in one category, or in more than one category) but please make sure you supply a completed entry form for each entry to avoid confusion on the day

The competition is open to amateur bakers in the community
