We're very excited to confirm that on the 1st of June, we'll be holding The Big Lunch in St James Park!
It's a community get-together for neighbours to get to know each other, and we're looking forward to meeting lots more people who love St James Park.
Date: Sunday 1st June
Time: 11:00 - 3:00
So what happens? Well, you bring your own picnic to enjoy with your friends and family, and a blanket or two is a good idea. If you're able to bring something to add to the 'sharing table', please do, something small like some fruit, biscuits, crisps or snacks.
What's on: there are all kinds of amusements planned to keep you busy on the day.
We've got face painting and activities with Melissa Gaul.
The Mill will be conducting a Knitting Circle, if you fancy learning to finger-knit.
Dr Bike is going to be here doing bike maintenance, and cycle confidence training for all ages.
Out on Essex Road, there'll be the chance to explore some of the classic vehicles from the Pumphouse Museum just over the road, as well as a London Fire Brigade engine from the Walthamstow Fire Station.
Waltham Forest Friends of the Earth have lots to tell you about beautiful bumble bees and how to help them thrive in your garden.
We're delighted to be a venue for the E17 Art Trail this year, and the Waltham Forest Arts Club are making a park gallery - hanging art from the trees which will be free to you to take home with you.
For all you amateur bakers out there, we're delighted to announce that we've got some very special judges for the first St James St Bake Off - the brilliant Cllr Clare Coghill, who's been a great supporter in getting the group off the ground, and the amazingly talented Edd Kimber, winner of the Great British Bake Off! Full details of how to enter coming soon.
We look forward to seeing you there on the day, email us with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org
